Home Enrichment Opportunities

Home Enrichment Activities based on Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy

** Try some of these activities at home and bring any of your finished products into your Discovery teacher (optional). Have fun!!

1. Understanding Level: Rainy Day Fun

Make a list of 20 things you can do on a rainy day. For extra fun, write your ideas on strips of paper. Use string to hang the paper strips from an umbrella to keep for the next rainy day. Pull one strip of paper at a time to give you ideas of fun things to do!

2. Applying Level: Job Fair

Interview three people (teachers, coaches or parents) who have different jobs. Outline on paper what each person does at work.

3. Analyzing  Level: Book Report

Analyze your favorite book. Describing the theme of the story, the main characters, and the problem(s) they encounter. For fun, use wrapping paper to make a cover for your book and include your analysis on the cover.

4. Evaluating Level: Good or Bad?

Some people believe that talking on a cell phone while driving a car is dangerous. Write a paragraph that explains how you feel about that issue. Write a second paragraph defending your opinion.

5. Creating Level : Game Alert!

During indoor recess you discovery that there are not enough baord games to go around for every child to play. Quick! Use tagboard or poster paper, markers and dice to make a game for a group of four students.  The game could involve a topic from science, social studies, reading or math that you are currently learning in your classroom.
